Welcome to South Middle School!

Over the past three years, South Middle School has experienced significant growth and success through the collective efforts of our students, staff, and families. Our Wisconsin DPI School Report Card score has increased by nearly 11 points. This growth reflects our shared commitment to creating the very best experience for every student.  

At South, we strive to provide a welcoming, supportive environment where students can learn, grow, and thrive. We believe that student success begins with strong relationships, regular attendance, collaboration, trust, and a growth mindset. Our goal is to create meaningful learning experiences that inspire students to engage in their education and develop the skills they need to be successful in middle school and beyond. 

As we look ahead to the 2026-27 school year, we remain committed to continuous improvement while celebrating the many successes of our students and staff. This school year, academic and behavior progress will be reported using standards-based grading. We are committed to partnering with families throughout the year to ensure a strong understanding of student progress and success. 

We know that student success is strongest when schools and families work together. We encourage students and families to get involved in the many opportunities South has to offer, whether through school events, music programs, athletics, clubs, or other activities that help students build connections and discover their interests. By partnering with one another and staying focused on what is best for kids, we can continue to make South Middle School a place where every student can connect, discover, and succeed.
