Science Olympaid
Science Olympiad** -
Coaches: Brian Evans, Mike Galloy, Kristen Solberg
The mission of Wisconsin Science Olympiad is to promote STEM education for students in Wisconsin K-12 schools by engaging communities in the thrill, excitement and challenge of science, technology, engineering and math competition.
Each year has 28 different events, and each event has its own very specific rule sheet that breaks down everything participants will be expected to know, how build events will be scored, and how the event will be run. These rule sheets are available outside Mr. Evans’s room (B107 in the Science House) prior to the start of the season.
The season begins at the start of the second quarter and runs until the State Competition, which usually takes place in the middle of April. All participating students will be expected to compete in the Regional Competition that takes place in February.
Students are expected to attend practice after school 1 day each week. To start the season, practices will occur on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4:30 pm in Mr. Evans’s room (B107). As we get closer to tournaments, we will increase the number of practices each week.
